So you remember Be Kind Rewind, where Jack Black and Mos Def made homemade versions of popular movies like RoboCop, a sentence that sounds like the rantings of a madman until you remember that it's an actual movie? Well, it seems that the fine folks over at CineFix's Homemade Movies have taken a page out of that book, only they're doing it one better.

Using costumes, action figures and a whole lot of cardboard, Homemade Movies has done a pretty incredible shot-for-shot recreation of the trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Just for comparison, here's a side-by-side with the Homemade Movies version and the original:

It's worth noting that for all their hard work and incredible attention to detail, they could not manage to recreate Andrew Garfield's hair. But then, what mortal man could? It is a natural wonder, like a sunrise or Old Faithful, but with a generous application of conditioner to keep it lustrous.

Anyway.

If you're curious about how they did it, there's a behind-the-scenes video as well:

Interestingly, it doesn't mention whether any of the people involved are running for political office in Mumbai, but at this point, I'm willing to accept that that's the natural step after making a homemade Spider-Man costume.
