So you remember Be Kind Rewind, where Jack Black and Mos Def made homemade versions of popular movies like RoboCop, a sentence that sounds like the rantings of a madman until you remember that it's an actual movie? Well, it seems that the fine folks over at CineFix's Homemade Movies have taken a page out of that book, only they're doing it one better.

Using costumes, action figures and a whole lot of cardboard, Homemade Movies has done a pretty incredible shot-for-shot recreation of the trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Just for comparison, here's a side-by-side with the Homemade Movies version and the original:

 

 

It's worth noting that for all their hard work and incredible attention to detail, they could not manage to recreate Andrew Garfield's hair. But then, what mortal man could? It is a natural wonder, like a sunrise or Old Faithful, but with a generous application of conditioner to keep it lustrous.

Interestingly, it doesn't mention whether any of the people involved are running for political office in Mumbai, but at this point, I'm willing to accept that that's the natural step after making a homemade Spider-Man costume.
