October is finally upon is, and here at ComicsAlliance, and one of the best parts of the month is gearing up for Halloween with costumes! It’s the one time of year when even people like me who could never cut it in our Best Cosplay Ever feature can drop by the local department store and walk out with the ability to dress up as our favorite characters.

But is that really a good thing? I have my doubts, which is why I’m spending every day taking on the store-bought costumes inspired by our favorite things. Today, things get creepy with the "Second Skin" costumes.

Remember a few days ago when I talked about how that one Power Rangers costume was definitely a sex thing? Well, it turns out that it did not exist in isolation. There is, in fact, an entire series of costumes built like that, and they are all what you might call insanely creepy. But as someone who believes Halloween costumes should be scary, I can kind of get behind these. As long as they're not hovering over me while I sleep.

Option 1: Batman

Starting on the low end of the creepiness scale, we have this one, which I think is actually pretty awesome. The face is a little too "Golden Age Batman" to go with the more modern suit, but if you threw a purple gloves on that bad boy, it'd be close enough for government work. And as the record will show, I am 100% pro Purple Gloves Batman.

Option 2: Robin

I'm significantly less a fan of Robin and his smarmy, painted-on smirk, although in retrospect, that would make it the perfect costume if you wanted to go meta and dress as Robin In The Funky Winkerbean Universe. The thing that starts to get me, though, are the fleshy skin patches where the eyes should be, although at least the outline of the mask mitigates that quite a bit. I definitely wouldn't want to see what this costume would look like without that.

Option 3: Superman

GAH! This is... oh I do not like this one bit. I'm... yeah, I'm officially freaked out by EYELESS SUPERMAN.

But these aren't the only "Second Skin" suits out there, not by a long shot. I'll be getting to those in a future update, but for now, here's this one to tide you over:

Option 4: Chewbacca

Probably the first time I would be more comfortable looking at a straight up fursuit.
