The Crow creator James O'Barr is apparently going to have a good bit of say in what happens in the new series based on his long-running series, which started in 1989. Earlier this month, production company Relativity Media confirmed O'Barr would serve as a consultant for the film, but it looks like the creator's art is going to be very important to promoting the movie -- at least in the early going.

O'Barr tells ShockTillYouDrop.com the details of his involvement in the movie, which will be directed by Javier Gutierrez, haven't totally been  nailed down yet. He said Gutierrez was the person who convinced him to work on the project with a promise to make the movie more like the comics source material than previous films.

Actor Luke Evans (Immortals) will fill the role of The Crow this time around.
