Any DC fan worth their salt well remembers that fan-favorite Kevin Smith came very close to bringing us a newer, weirder Superman, but now Smith has his eye on a different Justice League-r. Smith will direct an episode of The Flash down the line, if you wanted to see what Jay and Silent Bob thought of the Arrow-verse.

CW boss Mark Pedowitz announce the news during his address of the TCA press tour panel, adding that Smith would direct one of the later May episodes, potentially among the last three installments. Smith himself has plenty of history with superhero properties, including writing popular runs on Green Arrow and Daredevil, voicing Green Lantern for Duck Dodgers and M.O.D.O.K for The Marvel Experience, and appearing as “Jack Kirby” in the original Daredevil film.

In the meantime, so reads The Flash Season 2 synopsis for January 19 return “Potential Energy”:

JOE AND IRIS GET TO KNOW WALLY — Now that they’ve grown closer, Barry (Grant Gustin) considers telling Patty (guest star Shantel VanSanten) that he is The Flash. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Iris (Candice Patton) try to get to know Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale), and the team hunts down a meta-human who can slow time itself.
