Critics of the DC Cinematic Universe have often pointed out that Warner Bros. has tried to run before they can walk, choosing to stuff their movies with as many recognizable villains and superheroes as possible instead of slowly ramping up their exposure for movie fans. And while I am certainly not as pessimistic about the future of the DCU as others, I will agree that Warner Bros. too often seems to include three or more characters when one or two would suffice. So it’s not particularly surprising to hear a rumor that the standalone Flash movie will feature  —  you guessed it  —  as many villains as possible.

According to /Film, Umberto Gonzalez of The Wrap recently told viewers during a Periscope session that the villains in the upcoming Flash movie could be the super-villain group known as The Rogues. Like most comic book super-groups, the actual members of The Rogues have changed several times over the years, but the group has included major Flash villains such as The Trickster, Gorilla Grodd, and Captain Boomerang. This last name is particularly interesting; while these characters have all been introduced at one point or another to the Flash television series, the only villain known to the Warner Bros. universe is Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang from Suicide Squad. Since Flash star Ezra Miller had a quick cameo in Suicide Squad, it would seem to suggest that Courtney might pop up in a couple of difference places in the DCU.

Regardless of how the Flash movie shakes out, you can see Ezra Miller play the famous speedster in the Warner Bros. upcoming film Justice League, set to hit theaters on November 17, 2017. In the meantime, check out the footage from this year’s Comic-Con International for a good look at Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen.
