The Green Ranger Rules His First Bout As A MMA Combatant

Other than Kiefer Sutherland ditching acting to become a counter terrorist agent and Terry O'Quinn fleeing civilization to live as a boar hunter on a remote tropical island, I can't think of a single possibility of life imitating ridiculous television that I'd enjoy more than Jason David Frank's new gig as a mixed martial artist.

For those of you not in the know, Frank is best known for his role as Tommy Oliver, the fearless Power Ranger leader that underwent many different transformations as the Green Ranger, the White Ranger, the Red Ranger and a whole bunch of other things that I care less about. (Seriously, he was a Black-Dino Ranger? What does that even mean?) But battling Lord Zed, Rita Repulsa and their legion of Putties wasn't enough action for Frank, who decided to hang up his green/white/red/black-dino duds and pursue a new career as a mixed martial artist.

Many people laughed at the idea at first, because, well, it really is a hilarious concept. But after his recent battle - a victorious occasion that can be seen on Topless Robot - the laughter is gone and the truth is out there: Tommy's back, kids. He's back and he's kicking butt in the real world now. Zordon must be one very proud mentor right about now.
