It's been a little over a month since Telltale games released a teaser for the second season of its wildly acclaimed The Walking Dead video game. It didn't announce a certain release date then, and it still hasn't done so yet, but Steam has potentially let the cat out of the bag.

According to the Steam Store, the first episode should be out in less than two weeks, on December 17.

Here's how Steam describes the game:

The Walking Dead: Season Two continues the story of Clementine, a young girl orphaned by the undead apocalypse. Left to fend for herself, she has been forced to learn how to survive in a world gone mad.

Many months have passed since the events seen in Season One of The Walking Dead, and Clementine is searching for safety. But what can an ordinary child do to stay alive when the living can be just as bad – and sometimes worse – than the dead? As Clementine, you will be tested by situations and dilemmas that will test your morals and your instinct for survival. Your decisions and actions will change the story around you, in this sequel to 2012’s Game of the Year.

ScreenCrush speculates that Telltale may be waiting for this weekend's VGX awards ceremony to officially announce the release date for Steam, Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. An iOS release date will likely follow that information as well.

One really cool detail about the new season is that apparently choices from the first season and the between-seasons special, "The 400 Days," will have effects that ripple through Season 2.
