Action figures have taught Thor fans a lot about what the May 2011 live action film will have in store so far. We've seen Thor, Loki, Odin and a much talked-about frost giant, and now we're seeing what will likely be the thunder god's biggest onscreen threat of all. This week ToyFare #162 hit stores and gave fans one of the best looks at the Destroyer in proverbial action yet. Just look at it! The enchanted armor looks like it's ready to pummel the plastic beard right off of toy Thor's face.ComicsAlliance was on the scene when Marvel rolled out a Destroyer statue at San Diego Comic-Con International this past summer. Not long after that, the Thor movie trailer shown at the convention was leaked. Both instances showcased the living weapon's stature and firepower against some mortals, but TF's coverage of the Hasbro action figure gives fans their first insight as to its scale compared to Thor.

This Destroyer toy marks the character's second time to be rendered in plastic, coming nearly five years after ToyBiz's 2006 Marvel Legends series variant of Iron Man's Destroyer-derived Thorbuster amor toy. Given how hard it is to track down that item for a decent price, this release should be cause for celebration for Thorphiles.
