It's early yet, but I'm calling it: Regular Show: Skips #5 -- the second-to-last issue in the miniseries -- has my favorite panel of the month... or at very least my favorite portent of destruction. That's not to say I think writer and artist Mad Rupert is going to make the book's hero fail on his mission to save his friends (and their vacation) from a horrible time loop using high tech equipment and the unique skills he's obtained as an immortal -- but for my money nothing beats watching a gumball machine with anger issues predict oblivion. You can see for yourself in our preview of the issue, which is out this week from Boom! Studios with covers by Rupert, Felicia Choo, Monica Ray and Jimmy Giegerich.

From Boom!'s official solicitation info:

Skips and time-agent Ted are doing everything in their power to keep Mordecai and Rigby from destroying the world, but even with Ted’s cool time-equipment...will it ever be enough? It’s a matter of counting down in this latest issue...will Skips finally get some time to enjoy nature? Will Mordecai ever learn how to catch a football? Things might finally be going to plan but all it takes is one wrong step for the day to start over AGAIN.

You can preview six pages from Regular Show: Skips #5 below.
