The Toronto Comics Anthology has been the jumping off point for scores of great new local talent for a couple of years now, and for many of the creators it gives them the first opportunity to have comics work printed and published for the world to see. After the success of last year’s second volume, the anthology is back to show off the best and brightest of the Toronto indie scene to the world.

Volume 3 is currently live on Kickstarter, and features not only the best of up and coming Toronto talent, but more experienced creators such as Jason Loo, Meaghan Carter and Howard Wong. The book features thirty brand new stories set in and around Toronto, and features a foreword from Unbeatable Squirrel Girl writer and Toronto resident Ryan North.

The Toronto Comics Anthology started in 2014 when students from Ty Templeton’s Comicbook Bootcamp courses decided to take everything they learned and band together to produce the first anthology, with the writers paying for printing costs while the artists donated their work. For the second volume, the anthology’s editors turned to Kickstarter to cover printing and publishing, and to provide a page rate. The campaign ended up reaching 1440% of its goal.

Edited by Steven Andrews, Aaron Feldman, and Allison O’Toole, Volume 3 brings together almost fifty talented writers, artists and cartoonists from the Greater Toronto Area together for their biggest project yet. The Kickstarter is already halfway funded after three days, and offers various tiers of rewards from a digital copy of the book, up to signed copies of all three volumes, limited edition prints, and even the original cover to Volume 3 by Adam Gorham.

The Kickstarter runs until the end of March, and Volume 3 is set to debut at TCAF 2016. Check out some sample pages from the anthology below.
