More ‘Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3′ Alternate Costumes Revealed

When last we looked at the alternate costumes of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 rolling out at and GameSpot, many of the variant looks were inspired by animation and even other video games. This time around, however, the colors for Dr. Doom, Deadpool, Super Skrull, X-23 and the all-new Nova all seem to stem from years and years of comic book source material. You can scope out which comic book looks made the cut after the jump.As far as the new costumes go, Deadpool seems to be rocking the most comprehensively reworked looks of the bunch, with three of his increasingly numerous X-team uniforms available for players to choose from. X-23 is in a similar boat having worn similar, if differently colored attire in her comic appearances. Given Nova’s relatively few major uniform changes over the years, it’s pretty interesting to see what Capcom dug up to dress him in — especially the alternate dimension design where the Nova Corps rocks the red, white and blue. I’m a little disappointed that the Dr. Doom variant looks don’t include his stubbly morning face from The Super Hero Squad Show or his smiley face from an old Twisted ToyFare Theatre, but least there’s not a crying costume.

Check out X-23, Dr. Doom, Super Skrull, Nova and Deadpool’s alternate looks below:
