2012 may have seen the rebuilding of the Valiant Universe as the revived comic publisher relaunched books like X-O Manowar, Archer & Armstrong and Shadowman, but 2013 could be the year it all falls apart with the first crossover of the new era hits: Are you ready for Harbinger Wars?

The new storyline brings together plot threads from the Harbinger and Bloodshot series, as Bloodshot decides to attempt to make up for his previous missions by unleashing the super powered prisoners of Project Rising Spirit into the world - unaware that they'll become involved in the ongoing battle between Toyo Harada and Peter Stanchek for the future of the harbinger population of the planet. Executive editor Warren Simons said that the story will "mark a pivotal moment for the Valiant Universe as three of our heaviest hitters go guns-blazing into a conflict unlike any they've ever faced before... that will make the Valiant Universe a very dangerous place for a hero in 2013."

The storyline runs through three series: The core Harbinger Wars series, a four-issue mini-series co-written by Harbinger's Joshua Dysart and Bloodshot's Duane Swiercynzski with art by Clayton Henry, as well as accompanying issues of both Harbinger and Bloodshot, with each series standing alone for those who don't want to have to pick up extra titles.

Harbinger Wars launches in April 2013.
