Vixen Lays Down Some Animal Magic in First ‘Arrow’ ‘Taken’ Photos

Caught up as we’ve gotten in Arrow’s future, the Star City of present day will have some new DC drama all its own, come Wednesday, as Megalyn Echikunwoke debuts the live-action incarnation of Vixen for upcoming installment “Taken.” The first photos have arrived, but guess who makes an even more surprising return?

The CW released its full photo set for next week’s Arrow outing, not only debuting Megalyn Echikunwoke as a live-action Mari McCabe, but also returning another face from Oliver Queen’s past. For those left wondering after “Code of Silence,” Oliver’s baby-mama Samantha (Anna Hopkins) wasn’t killed in the process of Damien Darhk kidnapping their son William, but that doesn’t make things any less awkward around the lair.

VIXEN JOINS TEAM ARROW

Oliver (Stephen Amell) realizes he needs help battling Darhk (guest star Neal McDonough) so he calls in an old friend – Vixen (guest star Megalyn E.K.). Using her magical ability to summon animal powers, Vixen gets a lock on Darhk’s location and the team goes to war. Meanwhile, Thea (Willa Holland) has a heart-to-heart talk with Malcolm (John Barrowman).

The animated incarnation has also been renewed for a second season later this year, but stay tuned for more on next week’s Arrow, along with Vixen’s official debut!
