We know (at least we hope) The Walking Dead will follow through on its promise to kill off a significant character in the Season 7 premiere, so why not promote four more? Yes, AMC’s flagship horror drama has now upped its count to 20 series regulars for Season 7, upgrading four Season 6 additions to main cast members.

The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan won’t be the only major addition sticking around fulltime, as Season 7 has promoted Austin Amelio (Dwight), Tom Payne (Jesus) and Xander Berkeley (Gregory) to series regular. Amelio appeared unnamed early on in Season 6, before emerging as the comic take on Negan’s conflicted henchman Dwight, while Berkeley’s Hilltop leader Gregory only appeared for a solitary episode.

Amusingly, the 20 series regulars (a peak for the series) now includes Andrew Lincoln (Rick), Norman Reedus (Daryl), Steven Yeun (Glenn), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Chandler Riggs (Carl), Danai Gurira (Michonne), Melissa McBride (Carol), Michael Cudlitz (Abraham), Lennie James (Morgan), Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha), Alanna Masterson (Tara), Christian Serratos (Rosita), Josh McDermitt (Eugene), Seth Gilliam (Father Gabriel), Ross Marquand (Aaron), Austin Nichols (Spencer), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan), Tom Payne (Jesus), Austin Amelio (Dwight) and Xander Berkeley (Gregory).

And while that number may decrease by at least one with the premiere, expect some other major characters to make their debut this season, one of which will very likely claim a series regular spot for themselves at some point.

We’ll surely learn more from the upcoming Comic-Con 2016 presentation, but might The Walking Dead Season 7 expand to the biggest cast on TV?
