This week on War Rocket Ajax, we defend a world that hates and fears us -- or at least, we talk about the X-Men. It's basically the same thing, right? Chris and Matt are joined by ComicsAlliance's Andrew Wheeler and David Brothers to discuss their favorite and least favorite things about Marvel's Merry Mutants -- and you can listen to the whole show right here at ComicsAlliance!War Rocket Ajax #144: The Best and Worst of the X-Men with David Brothers and Andrew Wheeler

In this week's show, Chris is once again obsessed with mystical British soap operas for children, and Matt is really into barbecue. So... yeah. It's a normal episode.

When we dive into discussing the X-Men, though, the conversation turns to their favorite and least favorite heroes, villains, stories, costumes and eras! It's a heated debate especially when Chris talks about why Wolverine is his favorite X-Man:

MATT: I feel like the mid-90s did so much to cement a certain version of Wolverine that I can never think of him as my favorite. He was so catchphrasey.

DAVID: He had his own font for a while.

MATT: Yeah. When I think of Wolverine, inevitably, even though there are so many different versions and adaptations, I think of the version that's in Garth Ennis's Punisher, who was all "snikt bub snikt bub," and the version from every Capcom game where he just says "berserker barrage!" all the time.

CHRIS: Boneclaws-era, bandana-era Wolverine is not my favorite.

DAVID: That's about the era when I bailed out of comics entirely.

CHRIS: With good reason.

Young Avengers #1: "I was blown away by this comic. I was blown away by this issue, and based on the cliffhanger at the end, I am very well hooked on Young Avengers going forward."
