The graphic novel "Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow?" is, first and foremost, the story of a young boy whose imagination is ignited by the 1939 World's Fair, and his coming of age in an era of rockets and atomic bombs -- but it's also the story of the optimism and hope that fueled a generation of incredible advances and ultimately sent men to the moon.

Created by Eisner Award winner Brian Fies, the book is also interspersed with the comic book tales of "Captain Crater," a space-age superhero whose adventures mimic both the style of comics and the mindset of each era as time marches on.
