These things come out every week?! Here's a look at the new World War Hulk (WWH) books.

World War Hulk Gamma Corps #1WORLD WAR HULK: GAMMA CORPS #1
If these crossover books pan out, Hulk is going to be pretty busy for the next few months. He has already taken on Iron Man and Black Bolt. He's gone to the X-School to fight mutants. Presumably, he will be fighting the rest of the Illuminati. It seems he'll also now be doing battle with a team of Gamma-irradiated super-soldiers. While in concept this sounds interesting, the execution of WWH: GAMMA CORPS #1 didn't exactly leave me clamoring for more. Like many first issues of superhero comics, this book is filled to the brim with exposition. The titular Corps don't even make an appearance until after the middle staples and when they do, it just kind of...happens. Still, it's a first issue, and as the Corps get into the thick of things it could certainly take a turn for the better. For now, though, it's the least engaging of the three World War Hulk side series.
Ant-Man #10
THE IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN #10
Hulk is attacking New York (who knew?!?) and the city is being evacuated but the new Ant-Man, Eric O'Grady, is sticking around to...loot?! If you've been reading THE IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN, this shouldn't come as much of a suprise. O'Grady is, indeed, irredeemable. Ant-Man is the best stuff Kirkman is writing for Marvel right now and his twisted take on WWH is a welcome respite from the more serious-minded Hulk tie-ins like Gamma Corps.

That's it! Just one book last week and one this week. Gamma Corps had a weak start, but Ant-Man was a lot of fun. I'll be back with more WWH reviews as soon as Marvel publishes some more books! If that's not enough Hulk for you, you can always check out parts one, two and three of my series of WWH reviews.
