Toy Fair 2010 Brings ‘Kick-Ass’ News, Tony Stark’s New Armor And More
Action figures, statues and otherwise nerdy collectibles are given the royal treatment at Toy Fair each year, the massive New York City convention where toy manufacturers congregate and show off their upcoming wares. And show off they did - floods of picture-filled reports are already coming in from yesterday's opening, and they are, unsurprisingly, glorious.
Here are a few of the many highlights from the show thus far...
- MEZCO unveiled the first images of their Kick-Ass and Hit Girl action figures from their upcoming "Kick-Ass" line. Detail wise, it's hard to complain, though articulation looks to be an issue. [Cool Toy Review]
- Kotobukiya already announced these, but the official reveal of their "Captain America: Reborn" Cap and their modern day Thor statues are pretty great nonetheless. The company displayed some cardboard cutouts for other statues coming out this year without currently available prototypes, like a new Wolverine statue. [Toy Fair 2010]
- Speaking of Kotobukiya, the company has a new statue coming out in August based on Tony Stark's new armor for "Iron Man 2." The Iron Man Mark VI statue is close to fourteen inches tall and features LED lights in the eyes, chest, fists and base. It's a pretty cool sculpture for Shellhead fans, but it's priced at $174.99, so make sure to check your bank account before you splurge on this thing. [Superhero Hype]
