Neal Adams has been keeping busy at DC of late between his alternate cover gig on "First Wave" and the publisher's upcoming reprint of "Superman vs. Muhammad Ali," but it seems there's something even more prominent on the horizon: a 12-issue series entitled "Batman: Odyssey"

DC Comics reports that Adams will handle writing, illustration and even some of the inking duties on the upcoming series, meaning fans are going to get a heaping dose of Adams action. Here's DC's official story synopsis:

'Odyssey' finds Batman facing a series of seemingly unrelated challenges, villains and allies, old and new, that push him to his limits as never before. The battles get more intense and, in turn, more deadly, The Dark Knight Detective discovers that there might be an over-arching force behind his troubles. And if this is so, if there is a dark and mysterious matrix being super-imposed over Batman's life... what sort of life-changing voyage must he go on to free himself from this powerful and insidious direction? Worse... where can he go that he has never gone before for his desperately needed Odyssey?

With a storyline that seems to afford Adams the opportunity to illustrate a pretty hearty portion of both Bats' rogues and supporting cast, the project sounds like it could be a lot of fans' cup of Bat-Tea. We'll find out when "Batman: Odyssey" #1 drops in July.
