You know what I like about insane movie rumors? They're fun. Yeah, sometimes plausible dirt requires debunking, but by and large, insane movie rumors usually serve as nothing more than fleeting conversation starters for sensible fans. That's why when an assemblage of my friends (including a visiting Josh Wigler) made a comment about my toy Iron Man helmet last weekend, I knew I had to hit Photoshop and start a rumor.

Here goes:

Ultron is totally going to be the villain in Joss Whedon's upcoming "Avengers!" movie. I mean, when you open up Iron Man's toy helmet, it looks just like Hank Pym's evil metallic jack o' lantern face! Hasbro was probably given the go-ahead by Marvel to help plant the seeds, maaaan!

See how easy that was? Insane movie rumor engage.
Now, I'm not trying to discredit my friends' less-than-sober theory that a copycat Pym would base some kind of robot body off of Stark's Iron Man armor to house his rebellious artificial intelligence during an Avengers film. That's totally plausible, and not a bad idea, really - especially considering all of the Easter Eggs that populated both the "Iron Man" and "The Incredible Hulk" films. I just want to emphasize that this theory is not rooted in reality, but it's still fun to talk about.

That said, what do you think about insane movie rumors? Do they detract from, or add to the comic book film experience? Are they fun conversation starters or troll bait? Discuss.
