SEGA announced on Tuesday the development of "Captain America: Super Soldier," a new video game that will let players assume the role of Marvel's first Avenger and fight Nazis in World War II. The temptation to write "'Nuff said" is incredibly strong, so check out some screenshots after the jump."Captain America: Super Soldier" is a platformer that SEGA says will find Steve Rogers battling through a series of enemy castles with a variety of super skills. Tactics include scaling walls, solving puzzles, and, naturally, a number of shield-based attacks like taking out multiple opponents at once and deflecting incoming fire. As the screenshots indicate, players will also be able to just beat the hell out Nazis with their virtual fists.

The new Captain America game continues a series of Marvel-based releases from SEGA, who also developed "Iron Man," "Iron Man 2," and the upcoming "Thor."

With a story by "Avengers: The Initiative" writer Chrisos Gage, the new Captain America game is set entirely in World War II.

Wielding Captain America's legendary shield, gamers will engage in free-flowing combat and acrobatic platforming to infiltrate Hydra's mysterious castle and battle the infamous Iron Cross, the forces of Hydra, and a host of nefarious enemies serving the Red Skull. As the First Avenger himself, players must defeat the evil scientist Arnim Zola and his wartime experiments, combining powerful melee combos and shield attacks to devastating effect.

Like its "Thor" game's relationship to the upcoming film, SEGA says the story for "Super Soldier" will take place in the same continuity as "Captain America: The First Avenger," the upcoming live-action film from Marvel Studios. Both titles are due for release in 2011.
