In what seems like the ingenious comic book version of Overheard In New York, a cartoonist and comic book store employee known only as MRTIM has prodigiously kept track of the variously creepy, crazy, jerky and violent things actually said by the customers in his comic book shop and turned them into webcomics. Called Our Valued Customers, the barebones blog and simplified cartoons expertly spotlight everything we love to hate about comics (and ourselves). We've pulled a few of our favorites after the jump.

This site depicts REAL things said to me (or at least near me) by customers in the comic book shop that I work in. These are real people. This is what they look like and this is something that they actually said.

On why he didn't like the first episode of The Walking Dead...

After buying some Magic cards he paused and said...

Regarding a $200 copy of X-Men #101 from 1976...

Regarding Halloween...

To his mother regarding a $75 vinyl figure (see below) she wouldn't buy him...

(The figure)

To her friend...

To his friend as they thumbed through our selection of manga...

To his friend as they were buying Magic cards...
