Ask a lot of hardcore gamers out there what they think of the Nintendo Wii, and chances are, at best, you'll get an eye roll or a sarcastic chuckle in response. But with that being said, if ever there was a character that could possibly change perceptions -- or be a perfect fit for the Wii's handle-shaped motion controller -- it would have to be Marvel's resident Thunder God, and today, we're getting a first glimpse at some gameplay from SEGA's upcoming Thor: God of Thunder for the Wii.

Granted, it's no where near as polished as its PS3 and 360 counterparts (and judging by what we're seeing here, looks to be heavily influenced by another super-popular game franchise with "God" in the title), but you have to admit, the idea of controlling Mighty Mjolnir via Wiimote does sound like a hoot. And should Nintendo make a Uru hammer-shaped peripheral for the game (hint, hint), than even this avid button masher would seriously consider taking the plunge on the console.

Thor: God of Thunder is set to hit all major consoles and the Nintendo DS/3DS on May 3.
