As fun as it might have been to punch Hector Hammond in his oversized face in a literal translation of this summer's Green Lantern movie, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's found an much more robust way to occupy gamers in the film's upcoming videogame tie-in -- smashing an army of evil robots. Following February's release of the Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters trailer, Warner Bros. served up a closer look at the upcoming title with new screen shots demonstrating the construct might of Hal Jordan, Sinestro and Kilowog as the tear through the Guardians' original robotic space cops gone bad. Check them out after the jump.
Since the game seems to take place at least in part on Oa, so far screen shots seem to aesthetically synch up with what we've seen from the GL film. While Hal Jordan appears to be the only playable character, he's demonstrating suitable flight skills in many of the images, along with construct force fields, giant fists and even that big green machine gun.

The screen shots are presumably from the game's PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 port, although the game will see a more cartoony release on Nintendo's Wii, DS and 3DS systems. If the Wii version is as different as SEGA's Thor: God of Thunder and Captain America: Super Soldier's titles form their higher-end console counterparts, it will be interesting to see what Warner Bros. has cooked up when Rise of the Manhunters arrives on June 7.
