Despite repeatedly showcasing what seems to be very fluid gameplay, I've been giving the Green Lantern movie tie-in video game Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters a bit of a hard time for sticking Hal Jordan with his tried-and-true constructs -- you know, fists and such. Well, as those who picked up the title this week know by now, Jordan (voiced by GL movie star Ryan Reynolds) brought a plenty of creative constructs to the table after all. In addition to his beefy jet construct, he and multiplayer buddy Sinestro are throwing all kinds of neat translucent green weaponry at their evil mechanical forebears the Manhunters, as you can see in the final trailer and scads of screenshot below.Who will protect the protectors? These guys seem like they'll be just fine with mallets, maces, pistons, Boba Fett-style jet packs that fire rockets and even a giant cartoon anvil.

Released on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and the Nintendo DS and 3DS Tuesday, June 7, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters looks like a pretty good time, all told.
