Last week's San Diego Comic-Con International spawned scores of news stories, pop culture insights and cosplay photos. In fact, we're still catching our collective breath at ComicsAlliance. In the spirit of guiding our valued readers to the items they may have missed while in the belly of the news-consuming beast this past weekend, we've put together a helpful recap to efficiently deliver links to the things you may have missed, or simply want to indulge in again. Marvel

- Marvel launched an Avengers movie website, and their Comic-Con booth arrived in the form of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier wherea number of fans left with free Avengers logo t-shirts.

- Marvel announced that its Spider-Man and X-Men comics would be going day and date digital this fall and winter.



- Hugh Jackman revealed the Silver Samurai as The Wolverine Movie Villain.

- The Marvel TV panel discussed the progress of upcoming ABC shows aka Jessica Jones, The Hulk, Mockingbird and Cloak and Dagger.

- The Amazing Spider-Man star Rhys Ifans showed up at the panel for the first glimpse of his character the Lizard, and supposedly acted a tool.

- While his co-star behaved badly, next summer's Spider-Man Andrew Garfield poured his heart out to fans while wearing a Spidey costume.

- Spinning out of Fear Itself, Matt Fraction will pen The Defenders, while Jason Aaron takes over a duality-filled The Incredible Hulk.

- Jeph Loeb announced he and longtime collaborator Ed McGuinness are teaming for a new Cable series series starting in December.

- Disney released a gag teaser The Muppets with Sam the Eagle posing as Captain America.

- Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man Movie Poster showed off more of Spidey's super textured costume.

- The X-Men Panel teased a dead Deadpool, the new Uncanny X-Men, and a new recolored version of Jim Lee's X-Men #1.

- The Spider-Man Panel teased the Spider-Island event, a lighter Daredevil and a silent Punisher.

- Marvel Unleashed a number of its "Next Big Things" including Hulk of Arabia, five Avengers Origins one-shots, Villains for Hire and Avengers Origins.

- The Marvel Animation Panel gave updates on 2012's Ultimate Spider-Man, along with the status of Hulk and the Agents of SMASH, season two of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the ongoing Marvel Knights motion comics initiative.

- After several days of releases, The Avengers movie concept art poster finally assembled into one massive image.

DC Comics

- DC Comics confirmed that the end of the Flashpoint event would transition into the relaunched DC continuity this fall via a two-page spread.

- A new preview video gave fans a look at the upcoming Green Lantern animated series.

- Fans learned that Wonder Woman's pants are retractable (not really), and that Wally West is probably a goner in the "New 52."

- Batman fans got a better picture of where each member of the Bat-family fits into the new DCU. Batgirl's age may just surprise you.

- DC introduced attendees to more of the "New 52." Turns out Superman's girl Lois is totally getting it on with another dude in the new continuity. Poor Clark.

- The Superman Panel shed some light on the timeline for new 52 Man of Steel, a near-sex scene for Superman in Earth One, and a vague timeline of the relaunch's editorial history.

- The Justice League Panel panel addressed Ryan Choi's fate, the lack of female creators (sort of) and what's up with the historically wonky Power Girl.

- At the Green Lantern Panel, we learned Sinestro will mysteriously resume his role as a Green Lantern in the new DCU, while Hal Jordan lives as a homeless man with no ring powers.



- A number of characters like Aquaman, Batwing, Swamp Thing and Teen Titans had bits of their fate in the The New 52 revealed.

- DC Comics Co-Publisher Jim Lee, VP of Art and Design Mark Chiarello and artist Cully Hamner showed fans sketches of redesigned characters coming in the new DC Universe.

- The characters of DC's The Dark and The Edge lines got fleshed out by their creators.

- Fans got a load of the first several (unlettered) pages of Geoff Johns and Jim Lee's Justice League #1.

- Jim Lee sketched Wonder Woman without her redesigned pants, and asked Co-Publisher Dan DiDio to make up his mind about her costume.

- A Fables spinoff called Fairest was announced by Vertigo, and will be an ongoing series. focusing on the fairy tale ladies of the Bill Willingham series.



Image

- The trailer for the second season of The Walking Dead, the AMC adaptation of the Robert Kirkman comic, arrived.

- Robert Kirkman gave fans the skinny on the 2012 plans for Image's Skybound imprint imprint's plans for 2012, including the announcement of Nick Spencer's new series Thief of Thieves.

- A MacGyver comic is on the way from Lee David Zlotoff, Becky Cloonan, and Tony Lee. Yes, that MacGyver.



- Brian K. Vaughn announced his upcoming project, Saga, with artist Fiona Staples coming from Image in 2012, and spoke with ComicsAlliance about what inspired the new series.

IDW

- DC's Legion of Super-Heroes will team up with the classic Star Trek crew in a crossover comic by Chris Roberson.

- The IDW Panel took fans through their upcoming projects in 2012 including a new 30 Days of Night ongoing series, the relaunched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Memorial, Monocyte, Code Word: Geronimo, Godzilla, Frankenstein Alive, Alive! and Dead Rising.



- Wally Wood, Will Eisner and John Romita will have their work reprinted by IDW in special Artist's Edition hardcovers.


Dark Horse



- Dark Horse officially unveiled three new major comics projects: Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro's The Strain novel will be adapted for comics; musician Tom Morello and artist Scott Hepburn will release the 12-issue limited series Orchid, and novelists P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast will create all-new stories tying into their vampire novels, House of Night.

- Dark Horse Digital is now offering digital versions of its Star Wars Comics titles. The rollout begins with 50 Star Wars comics -- including material first published by Marvel Comics -- with more added weekly for the cost of free-$1.99.

Oni



- ComicsAlliance talked to Sixth Gun creators Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt about their series' upcoming live action adaptation on SyFy.


Fantagraphics
- The E.C. Comics Library is coming back to print via Fantagraphics, with creator-based collections rolling out in 2012 and beyond.
Gaming
- The full list of new characters coming to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 leaked online.

- Batman: Arkham City will feature The Penguin, Solomon Grundy, and Talia as playable characters.


- Activision released another look at Spider-Man: Edge of Time, showing off Black Cat and more bad dudes form the September release.

- Gotham City Imposters unveiled another video teaser, and a 2012 release date.

Toys

- Hasbro showed off new action figures of Thor, Captain America and Iron Man from its upcoming The Avengers toy line trying into the 2012 film.

- Prototypes for Lego's upcoming line of Marvel and DC superhero minifigs popped up at the company's booth.

- We played with many of Hasbro's Comic-Con exclusive toys, including the huge Marvel Universe Sentinel, G.I. Joes, Transformers and a My Little Pony.

Cosplay

- We caught an adorable baby cruising around in a R2D2 and were jealous.

- Boba Fett Wolverine proved that his costume-making skills were bountiful, bub.

- Hello Kitty Slave Leia adopted the ultimate cosplay trope.

- Homer Simpson and Dragon Ball Z's Vegeta fused for Dragon Ball Homer Simpson.

About Town

- Pedicabs were out in full force, but only a select few got to ride on the Iron Throne through streets of San Diego in the Game of Thrones Pedicab.


- Comedy Central set up its own South Park City for fans to visit near the convention center.

- We hit the "Museum of Conan Art" for a look at its many Conan O'Brien's The Flaming C Art Gallery.

- We attended the 2011 Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards, which handed out more than 60 awards to creators and professionals in the comics industry.

- The planned protest against DC's new continuity and costumes amounted to a small gathering of a dozen or so cosplayers.

-Chris Sims was on hand with video to see what all the Reboot Protest hoopla was about -- and it wasn't much.

Animation

- Conan O'Brien crashed Warner Bros. Green Lantern: The Animated Series panel to show off a CG animated trailer for he and Bruce Timm's The Flaming C.

- The Green Lantern: The Animated Series panel itself showed several clips from the upcoming show, where Hal Jordan and Kilowog will face an army of Red Lanterns in the first season.

- Nickelodeon gave fans a look at a teaser for the Avatar: The Last Airbender sequel, The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra.



Previews
- A video trailer for Frank Miller's Holy Terror was released by Legendary Comics, followed by the series' first five pages. This is definitely not DC's Batman reboot.
