Nickelodeon let loose its first animated look at the 70-years-later sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender this past week at Comic-Con. Created by the original Avatar team of Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko the new series, The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra, introduces viewers to protagonist Korra, a powerful teenaged bender who has mastered Earth, Water and Fire-bending and is on a journey to conquer manipulating Air. It won't be an easy task, however, as Korra enters a steampunk metropolis full of crime and anti-benders. Fortunately Aang's son Tenzin will be on hand to show her the ropes. The premiere date has yet to be announced, but you can see the teaser after the jump.Filling in some of the missing years between Avatar and Legend of Korra is Dark Horse Comics' Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Lost Adventures, which kicked off on Free Comic Book Day. The Lost Adventures will be released in 240-page digest-sized volume and act act as a kind of "season four" to the original animated series with a blend of previously-published and brand new comics content when it debuts in 2012.
