Iron Man, Thor and Captain America are fine and all, but for a lot of Marvel movie fans, Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson is the real star of The Avengers franchise. The persistent S.H.I.E.L.D. agent is pretty much a lone voice of reason in films fueled by raging egos, which made him fun to watch in the subtle one-shot short "The Consultant" which debuted as an extra in the recently released Thor DVD and Blu-ray. Judging from a new preview of Agent Coulson's next adventure, "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer," fans are in for even more Coulson-y goodness when the short is released as part of the home video Captain America: The First Avenger DVD and Blu-ray. Check out a preview of the short, which bridges the events of Iron Man 2 and Thor after the cut.The last time we brought you footage of Agent Coulson, I took some serious heat (and threats of face punching) for referring to the fellow as "the stuffiest" S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Well, count me among the pro-Coulson camp. From now on, I'll only be referring to him using positive superlatives. Dude hangs out with Nick Fury and Maria Hill on the Helicarrier! He's not the stuffiest, he's just the awesomest.
