A Hero For Fun: The Best One-Punch Man Fan Art Ever!
If you haven’t read the manga or seen the anime based on it, you’re really missing out, because One-Punch Man is absolutely amazing! The premise is pretty easy to explain: a young man named Saitama decides to become a hero, for fun, and after an intensely rigorous training regimen (100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and 10km running. Every. Single. Day.), he becomes so powerful no enemy can withstand more than one of his punches. He’s then confronted with the only foes he can’t beat with his fists: the unshakeable ennui of being completely unbeatable, the boredom of being unchallenged, and the malaise of everyday life in Z-City.
If you still don’t want to believe me, just take a look at all of this incredible fan art One-Punch Man has inspired, check out the artists’ sites, and have your mind changed, because not enjoying Saitama’s adventures is only hurting yourself worse than consecutive normal punches.
Fantastic Five: Best Kid Heroes [Kids’ Comics]
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there’s no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we’re taking it upon ourselves to compile Top Five lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics.
Kids love superheroes. Kids love pretending they are superheroes. So it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that it's probably a good idea to make some superheroes that are kids! Before you get upset, while technically teenagers are kids too, teenage heroes get to do all kinds of things younger heroes don’t, so this list is going to be focused mostly on some of our favorite pre-teen heroes. All you grown ups and teens are gonna have to get out of the pool, because this week it's Kids Swim only!
Engage! The Best Star Trek Fan Art Ever
With the recent release of the third installment in the new Star Trek film series, Star Trek Beyond, the future of the past continues to zoom into the future of the present. Even as that future continues to change around us. And just as our present vision of the future changes, so too the exploits and adventures of the crew of the USS Enterprise have changed. And that makes sense, especially when you consider the fact that this new iteration of the franchise has revolved almost entirely around time travel and alternate timelines.
But if all this time talk has got your head spinning, there's a lot of great fan art by talented artists to enjoy, and we've compiled a small collection of some of the best. Gallery Viewer… Engage!
Fantastic Five: Baddest Pokemon
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there’s no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we’re taking it upon ourselves to compile Top Five lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics.
This week we’re taking a look at the five baddest first generation Pokémon.
Fantastic Five: Baddest Star Wars Darths
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there’s no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we’re taking it upon ourselves to compile Top Five lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics.
This week we’re taking a look at the five baddest “Darths” from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
The Man of Tomorrow: The Best Superman Fan Art Ever
Superman is the best. The. Best. In every possible way you can take that statement. It’s not up for debate. He’s the first superhero. He’s the greatest superhero. If there can be but one superhero, he’s the only superhero you need or that matters. If you asked a thousand people to draw or describe what a superhero is supposed to look like, the consensus design would undoubtedly most closely resemble Superman.
The idea of Superman is so iconic, that even as his look and costume continue to change and evolve over time and be interpreted and re-imagined by countless artists the world over, he somehow still manages to be instantly recognizable as Superman. The amazing and eclectic collection of art I’ve put together here only serves to illustrate my point!
Flying High Again: The Best Nightwing Fan Art Ever!
Dick Grayson has done it all. He was in the circus. He was the first Robin. He’s the reason almost every superhero had to have a kid sidekick. He started his own super-team with his friends. He broke away from Batman and became his own hero, and took over for his mentor and became Batman.More than once. He’s been a good cop in a bad city. He’s died and come back as a super-spy. And now, with DC Rebirth in full swing, he’s set to slip back into the black and blue and become Nightwing once again!
Oh, and if you haven’t been on the internet, he also has the unquestioned, best butt in comics. So, yeah, as you might have guessed there’s a lot of fan art of him floating (or flipping, spinning, and swinging) around out there on the internet.
Fantastic Five: Worst Superman Costumes
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there’s no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we’re taking it upon ourselves to compile Top Five lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics.
Superman is responsible for laying the foundation for what we would come to know as the "superhero costume", so it stands to reason that every time anything about his changes; it makes headlines and gets people talking. But for a character that’s been around as long as Superman, it’d be silly not to expect him to mix it up every now and then and try on a new outfit. But they can’t all compete with his classic look. In fact, most of them can’t. The red, yellow, and blue has stood the test of time for a reason, so this week we’re looking at a few of Superman’s less successful wardrobe choices.
Defender of the Universe: The Best Voltron Fan Art Ever!
The galaxy is in peril from the forces of the evil Zarkon, and there’s only one thing to do: form Voltron. And it looks like the galaxy is in luck, because Netflix and Dreamworks Animation have resurrected the big ‘bot in a new series Voltron: Legendary Defender. The entire first (hopefully, of many) season is available for streaming now, and if you haven’t watched it yet, you should fix that, because it’s fantastic!
In celebration of Voltron’s triumphant return, we’ve compiled a gallery of some of the best fan artwork featuring the big guy and Team Voltron. We even snuck a few Vehicle Voltron pics in there (because there’s no way Vehicle Voltron is ever going to get its own gallery).
Fantastic Five: Best Video Game Comics
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there’s no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we’re taking it upon ourselves to compile Top Five lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics.
Comic fans and video game fans are two groups that share an awful lot of overlap, and webcomics like Penny Arcade and artists like Zac Gorman, have made all kinds of comics about video games for the internet, but what about actual comic books? In a previous video, we told you about five video games that deserved comics, but this week, it’s all about some of the very best video games that have made the leap from consoles to comic pages.
