DC and Vertigo Comic Book Releases for February 2016 [Solicitations]

Courtesy of DC Comics, ComicsAlliance brings you an advance look at new periodical comic books, collected editions, and graphic novels going on sale in February 2016 (and in some cases beyond) from the publisher’s superhero line and the mature readers Vertigo imprint.

DC is continuing its second month into 2016 strong with all kinds of new adventures starring your favorite costumed characters. Love is in the air in time for Valentine's Day, but we assure you, there are still plenty of costumed heroes and villains duking it out in the meantime. The Dark Knight Returns saga goes back in time a little with The Last Crusade, where we’ll get to see the events prior to Bruce Wayne coming out of retirement and putting the cowl back on. We'll see even more chess pieces coming into place before Frank Miller's iconic comic began.

Back in the present, Superman has his hands full against Darkseid and the forces of Apokolips. Fortunately, three heroes from the tiny town of Kandor will join Kal-El in his fight against evil. Constantine’s show might be cancelled, but Hellblazer continues as Neron locks John away in the worst place possible: Hell, where he sent many of his adversaries over the years. The new Task Force X is going on yet another suicide mission with Amanda Waller in charge yet again (or so she thinks). Back in the bayou, Swamp Thing must save a small Louisiana college town from a zombie on the loose. In the newest Wonder Woman issue, Princess Diana’s role as the new God of War is put to the test, now that Apollo and Ares have returned.
