Marvel’s Netflix Defenders tapping Daredevil bosses Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez to showrun seemingly confirmed that the teamup miniseries would directly follow Iron Fist over any additional series, Jessica Jones Season 2 included. Thankfully, we may see plenty of Jessica Jones’ support cast in The Defenders, as Eka Darville claims Malcolm will appear in the event series.

Take this with a grain of salt for now, but Darville reportedly confirmed his presence during a panel at the Supanova Pop Culture Expo in Melbourne, stating flatly of The Defenders “Yes. I will be in it. I’m not sure how much yet but I will be in it.” That would certainly make sense, what with Jessica Jones Season 1 closing on Darville’s Malcolm seemingly joining Alias Investigations as a receptionist of sorts, though it’s hard to say how large a role the agency might play.

Apart from its showrunners, The Defenders will reportedly start shooting later this year, potentially debuting in 2017 after the premiere of Netflix’s Iron Fist. Darville might also potentially reprise his role in Jessica Jones Season 2, though neither Marvel nor Netflix have offered any kind of post-Defenders timetable for any additional seasons.

More Defenders and Iron Fist news will likely emerge in the coming weeks, but what role might Eka Darville’s Malcolm play in bringing New York’s street-level heroes together?
