Gotham gave out a few tidbits of info from Season 2 during its Comic-Con 2015 panel, though only those in attendance got to see new footage. Now, the DC drama goes batty with villains in two new trailers for the fall premiere, including a new look at the Batcave, and the so-called “Rise of the Villains.”

“Monsters are coming to cleanse this city with blood and fire,” says James Frain’s Theo Galavan in a lazy Game of Thrones grab to preview Gotham’s second season, also joining the trend of haunting cover tracks with “Hungry Like the Wolf.” The second spot fares a bit better, previewing Bruce and Alfred’s descent into the Batcave after the finale, complete with — you guessed it — bats!

Elsewhere of Gotham Season 2, we know the second run will make series regulars of Chris Chalk’s Lucius Fox, Nicholas D’Agosto’s Harvey Dent, and Morena Baccarin’s Dr. Leslie Thompkins. Producers will incorporate such Bat-baddies as Clayface, the Mad Hatter, Mr. Freeze, Hugo Strange, Tommy Elliot, and potentially even the Court of Owls, while early episodes will serve as a “pre-embryonic” (sigh) origin story for the Joker.

In addition to Natalie Alyn Lind’s Silver St. Cloud and True Detective star James Frain’s role as sinister philanthropist Theo Galavan, Gotham Season 2 will also feature Michael Chiklis as Captain Nathaniel Barnes, Jessica Lucas as Galavan’s sister (and future Tigress) Tabitha, along with Dustin Ybarra as a homicidal cannibal.

Gotham Season 2 will return on Mondays this fall, but take a look at the two teasers above while we wait.
