Whether you thought the reboot-y 2006 Miami Vice movie was as good an idea as Hollywood did, one thing is certain: The show's classic continuity as depicted by Don Johnson and Philip Michael was a force of new wave nature. Working to tap back into the '80s groove, Lion Forge Comics today revealed new preview images from Miami Vice #1 by writer Jonathan London and artists Carl Reed and Geanes Holland, which blend the original show's tone with all-new tales.

Debuting for $1.99, Miami Vice #1 and subsequent issues will be available on the Amazon Kindle store, Google Books and iVerse's Comics Plus servie.

From the official comic description:

Miami Vice detectives Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs race to solve a brand new case when a lethal street drug prompts a string of deaths in Miami's modeling community. Working with the team at the Organized Crime Bureau, Crockett and Tubbs attempt to locate the drug's source as all signs point to the arrival of a mysterious drug kingpin who has his sights set on taking over the Miami underworld! All of the 80s styles, the beautiful women and excitement return in this brand new adventure that takes place in the original show's continuity!

Miami Vice's launch is part of Lion Forge's new push into several digital comics based on shows from the 1980s (and 1990s). Comics based on Airwolf and Knight Rider dropped in November, followed by the release of Saved by the Bell and Punky Brewster a few weeks back.
