Mondo’s Donatello Goes Up For Pre-Order Tomorrow, So Get Your Refresh Button Skills Ready

When it comes to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it seems almost everyone is either on team Raphael or team Michelangelo. Leonardo gets a little bit of love, but almost no one will admit to being a fan of Donatello. Perhaps it falls back to the playground, where we'd all pretend to be the Turtles, and the last guy you wanted to be was the smartest guy in the room. Now as an adult, I can see the err of my ways. I mean, I'm still totally on team Raphael, but I get Donatello now.

Last month, Mondo kicked off its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle sixth-scale figure line with the leader of the pack, Leonardo. Though there have been a lot of TMNT figures and vinyls making waves over the past few months, Mondo's presents the first time this iteration of the characters will be available at this scale and with this many accessories. Tomorrow, Donatello finally get his chance to shine, and he's bringing a bunch of cool stuff with him.

All of the figures will come with two heads; one with the classic red bandanna and another with the signature color (purple for Donnie). There's also a set of climbing claw hands, c-grip hands, and a "Vertical Thumb of Affirmation" hand, which serves as Donnie's version of Leo's "Pointing Finger of Leadership." Here's hoping Mikey comes with a "Hang Ten, Dude" hand and Raph comes with a "Middle Finger of Righteous Indignation" hand.

Also like the Leonardo figure, Donatello will include two four-point and eight point shruyuken each, along with an Utrom blaster and grappling hook. Donatello will come with a single bo staff and a baby version of himself, too. You'll also get an Utrom Commander figure, though without a robotic body to put him in, he's not that much of a threat.

If you happen to get a hold of one of the Mondo-exclusive versions, you'll get all of those goodies, plus Gravitic Equalizer from Donatello #1. If you happen to recall that issue, a Jack Kirby-esque character designs the gun for Donnie to use against the enemies he fights in that one-shot comic.

The 1/6 scale Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Donatello will be available for pre-order at a random time (revealed by @MondoNews) on Sept. 29 for $149.99. The Mondo-exclusive edition will be available at the same time for $159.99. If you already ordered the complete set, you're covered; just remember you're going to be charged for Donatello.
