Well, The CW deal with Hulu that enabled next-day streaming of the most recent five episodes may have lapsed, but Netflix subscribers are officially in for some good news. The CW has confirmed a new streaming deal that will bring full seasons of CW shows a mere eight days after their finales air on the network.

Tuesday saw The CW and Netflix renewing their licensing deal, which will now include the eight-day wait for full seasons to be added on the streaming service. That includes new series Frequency, No Tomorrow and Riverdale (along with CBS import Supergirl), as well as existing shows Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, Flash, Jane the Virgin, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Vampire Diaries, The 100, iZombie, The Originals and Reign.

Says Netflix of the news:

Netflix members in the US love the great lineup of series from The CW, and we are thrilled to extend the relationship and bring those shows to our members exclusively now, just eight days after their season finales. This is a great step forward with a valued network partner to give fans exactly what they want, when and how they want it.

While The CW gave credit for the initial Netflix deal boosting profiles for a number of its series:

Since the initial landmark deal in 2011, The CW’s programming has enjoyed tremendous success and increased exposure through Netflix, and our new agreement not only continues but enhances this valuable relationship. The CW has positioned itself for the future by transforming into a true hybrid network, rooted in broadcast while fully embracing the digital and streaming habits of the viewers.

Changes won’t officially take effect until the 2016-2017 season begins, but is a shortened Netflix window worth losing out on Hulu access?
