Marvel NOW Line-Up Reveals New Titles, New Teams
Marvel’s reveal of its Marvel NOW line of comics set for release in the wake of Civil War II has taken the form of a steady drip of announcements over the past week and a half, but now news is flooding in, and not all from official sources. Leaked scans of this week's Marvel NOW Previews magazine revealing the publisher's line-up for October and beyond have hit the internet via sites such as Reddit and 4chan. We’ve rounded up all the information we could find to give you a sense of the new landscape of the Marvel Universe this fall.

Marvel Comics' wave of announcements for its post-Civil War II line-up keeps on trucking with news of four more ongoing series with high-profile creative teams that give us a peek at the new Marvel NOW. As part of the new status quo, Carol Danvers is more popular than ever, there's a new Iron Man who isn't Riri Williams, Thanos is getting his shot at a title, and we finally get that new Jessica Jones series we've been waiting a year for.

Last week, Marvel Comics released a look at its universe following Civil War II, and one notable absence was Tony Stark, although he was represented in some capacity on both sides of the teaser. On the left, Victor Von Doom held the Iron Man face plate, while on the right, new character Riri Williams stood front and center in her own suit of armor. While Marvel is being coy about Tony Stark's fate in the aftermath of the event, it was confirmed today that Riri Williams will take over as the lead character in Invincible Iron Man by Brian Michael Bendis and Stefano Caselli later this year.

Jessica Jones creator Brian Michael Bendis apparently jumped the gun to reveal that Cinemax had an eye toward adapting Marvel Icon imprint Scarlet (especially given he claimed HBO at the time). That said, with the cat out of the bag, the revered comic artist teases that Scarlet would very-likely follow some of her reality-bending roots into the live-action adaptation.

Civil War Correspondence: Prelude To War
Civil War II is upon us, and all of our favorite Marvel books are going to be subsumed by a conflict that pits hero against hero, sister against brother, and Avenger against Avenger. To keep track of the moral quagmire, we at ComicsAlliance will be following events closely to determine which side is right in this ethically grey debate. This first month sees the playing field established with two prelude issues and today’s big, life-altering Civil War II #1. New characters are introduced, classic characters die, and lines are drawn in the sand as the principal players take their positions and prepare for war.

What Exactly Was The Deal With Xorn Anyway?
We’ve been celebrating Mutant Week all week here at ComicsAlliance, and it’s fair to say that everyone has had a lot of fun. However, now it’s time to get serious and talk about the stuff that really matters, that being: What the heck is Xorn’s deal?! If you’re unaware, Xorn was a character with a cool design and a cool hook, introduced by Grant Morrison and Leinil Francis Yu in New X-Men Annual way back in 2001. He had a star for a face, he was a healer, and he taught the remedial class at Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters. Then, Grant Morrison pulled the rug out from under us with a reveal so drastic that Marvel spent years trying to to undo it in a satisfying way.

'Powers' Season 2 Gets Final Trailer, New Aftershow
Whether or not the first season of PlayStation’s comic-adapted Powers did justice to its Brian Michael Bendis origins, it looks as if Season 2 heavily intends to right the ship with an increased scale, and one of the book’s most famous stories. See for yourself in the final trailer for our May premiere, along with word of another Talking Dead-style aftershow to follow.

The Artist's Spider-Man: Mark Bagley's Generational Jump
Among Spider-Man fans, Mark Bagley is largely known as the artist of Ultimate Spider-Man, and with good reason. The Ultimate line was a shot in the arm for a character who had taken a downward turn in the mid-90s, with an overlong and largely panned story, The Clone Saga. He hadn't fully returned to the spotlight, despite some good follow-up stories. But to peg Bagley as just the artist of an astonishing run on Ultimate Spidey is to undercut his accomplishments on the regular Marvel U version of the character a full decade earlier. And it's all pretty good.

We're officially on the road to Civil War II, and it all begins in Civil War II #0 by Brian Michael Bendis, Olivier Coipel and Justin Ponsor! Well, it actually all begins in the Free Comic Book Day flipbook that sets the stage for the conflict, but that leads right into the zero issue where things really start to heat up (we assume) and we've an unlettered preview of all the action.
