Back when Marvel announced that the X-Men were going to be fighting vampires, it made a number of people upset. For the most part these were X-Men fans annoyed that their favorite heroes were getting dragged into a battle with flavor-of-the-moment monsters while the rest of the Marvel Universe was off having fun in the new Heroic Age...

The Heroic Age of the Marvel Universe has arrived. The Super-hero Registration Act has been repealed. But as the rest of Marvel's heroes step forward into a brighter, shinier future, the X-Men -- who have been fighting for their lives and the survival of their species for some time now -- are about to take another turn towards horror in "Curse of the Mutants" in today's "X-Men"

Whether they're bloodsucking fiends or sparkly prettyboys, everybody loves vampires, and that's a fact that Marvel seems fully aware of given their plans to pit the creatures of the night against their band of merry mutants in the upcoming "Curse of the Mutants" storyline...
