My understanding of TV's Arrow comes largely from reading ComicsAlliance's weekly recaps. Because of that, I assumed that --- Flash and Legends of Tomorrow crossovers notwithstanding --- it wasn't the kind of show that really lent itself to battles against cybernetic spider monsters. Immortal assassins and hooded vigilantes, sure, but cyber-spiders? That's right out. But now, I have been proven wrong. In the next chapter of the digital-first Arrow: The Dark Archer comic, Malcolm Merlyn is going to be facing off against a reasonably terrifying giant mutant spider. And in case you didn't know, it's a story co-written by Carole E. Barrowman and John Barrowman, the former Doctor Who star who plays Merlyn on the show, and illustrated by Daniel Sampere. 'Arrow' Producers Are New Writers On 'Green Arrow'
DC Comics announced Thursday that Green Arrow will have a new creative team starting with October's issue #35, and TV fans who like to scroll through the credits might recognize the writers' names. Andrew Kreisberg and Ben Sokolowski, producers on The CW's hit series Arrow, will take over writing duties while Daniel Sampere (Batgirl) will handle art. The current Green Arrow team of Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino will finish up their run in September's Green Arrow: Futures End #1, according to the DC Comics blog.
