Unfortunately for fans of The CW’s The Flash, Grant Gustin won’t be making the leap to the big screen for Warner Bros. and DC’s upcoming movie. Ezra Miller will be tackling the role of Barry Allen and his lightning-fast superhero alter ego in the DC movie universe, and while it’ll still be a couple of years before he makes his big screen debut, the actor is opening up about the exciting new role and what he hopes to do with it.

Unlike Marvel, DC’s movie and television divisions aren’t working in tandem with one another for their shared universes, instead offering what’s been described previously as “alternate” reality versions, similar to the way comic books feature multiple versions of heroes existing on different earths or timelines. For DC and Warner Bros., this presents a challenge with at least one of their upcoming films, as The Flash movie will need to differentiate itself from its television counterpart. A new rumor suggests that they’ve figured out at least one way to do that.

The presentation will include clips from the new live-action Pan starring Hugh Jackman, and the movie version of the ’60s spy series The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Last week it was rumored that Warner Bros. had their eye on The LEGO Movie writing/directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller to help with The Flash solo film. It wasn’t clear if the studio wanted Lord and Miller to write or direct the project (or both), but it looks like at the very least, the pair are officially developing the story for The Flash — and that’s the extent of their involvement…for now.

At a presentation to investors on Wednesday morning, Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara unveiled his studio's blockbuster movie slate for the next few years through to 2020, finally confirming the titles for an ambitious number of movies based on DC Comics superhero properties. The announcement confirms that we will finally see a long-awaited Wonder Woman movie in 2017. Gal Gadot will reprise the role after 2016's Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice. The announcement also includes the expected Justice League movie -- and a sequel -- the previously announced Suicide Squad movie, and pictures starring Justice League members Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern, and Cyborg. This means DC now has one superhero movie in the works with a female lead, and three with non-white leads.
