Fantastic Five: Best Kid Heroes [Kids' Week]
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. Kids love superheroes. Kids love pretending they are superheroes. So it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that it's probably a good idea to make some superheroes that are kids! Before you get upset, while technically teenagers are kids too, teenage heroes get to do all kinds of things younger heroes don’t, so this list is going to be focused mostly on some of our favorite pre-teen heroes. All you grown ups and teens are gonna have to get out of the pool, because this week it's Kids Swim only!

In the 100-plus years that comic strips have served to brighten up newspapers, there have been various different genres to populate the pages of the comics section: adventure, soap opera, puzzles, Ripley's Believe It or Not, and so on. Good guys team up for unity and power to achieve the greater good in superhero comics all the time. Superhero teams are one of the surest and most frequent tropes in cape comics, both mainstream, independent, and small press. Bad guys, on the other hand, are perhaps a little less likely to trust each other enough to form some kind of...squad? But that doesn't mean there isn't still a host of cool supervillain teams worth our time and attention. This cool list of cool stuff is here to count down and celebrate the best of the baddest.
