Strange Company: The Marvel Mystical Fantasy Draft, Part Two
For our latest fantasy draft, in honor of Doctor Strange, our writers must compete to put together the best superhero teams made up entirely of Marvel magical characters, featuring one occultist, one demon, one vampire, one undead character, and one were-monster. In day one of the draft, Tara Marie picked Sera, Jubilee, and FrankenCastle; Steve picked Spitfire, Nico Minoru, and Robbie Reyes; Kieran picked Dracula, Elsa Bloodstone, and Captain Britain; Andrew picked Agatha Harkness, Billy Kaplan, and Cullen Bloodstone; and Elle picked Magik, Blade, and Zombie. In day two, they pick the fourth and fifth members of their teams --- and the doctors are in.

The Best Fantasy-Inspired Superhero Art Ever
Superheroes have always had their generic roots in the twin fields of sci-fi and fantasy. A man arrives from space with great powers, a princess is given gifts from her gods as she goes out to explore the world, a millionaire fights crime with the aid of super-science gadgets, and so on. But over time, superhero fiction developed its own tropes, and left its forebears behind. To celebrate that seemingly forgotten tradition of taking these characters out of their comfort zones, we've assembled this gallery of fantasy interpretations of your favorite superheroes. This is the best fantasy-inspired superhero art.

Fantastic Five: Best Fantasy Heroes
If there’s one thing we’ve learned from our years on the Internet, it’s that there’s no aspect of comics that can’t be broken down and quantified in a single definitive list, preferably in amounts of five or ten. And since there’s no more definitive authority than ComicsAlliance, we’re taking it upon ourselves to compile Top Five lists of everything you could ever want to know about comics. For some reason, everyone on this site seems to be talking about fantasy stuff this week, so I thought it would be a cool idea to count down the five best heroes of sword and sorcery, battle axe and chainmail bikini.

Sexual Fantasy: Should You Be Reading 'Oglaf'?
With Should I Be Reading… ?, ComicsAlliance hopes to offer you a guide to some of the best original ongoing comics being published today. This week, we’re focusing on fantasy comics as part of a week of articles looking at the very best in the genre. There's no overall plot, but many recurring characters and storylines, all in service to some of the funniest smut on the web.

My Favorite Monster: Go Big Or Go Home With The Ogdru Jahad
When thinking about favorite monsters, I wanted to go to one of the biggest, most uncontrollable and terrifying concepts that have ever hit the comics page. Dinosaurs and demons are all well and good, but they offer a threat that doesn’t dig deep beneath the skin. What really frightens me is unknown, unseen terror that exists in fugue; horrors like the Ogdru Jahad, creatures we've seen only briefly in Mike Mignola-created books including Hellboy and B.P.R.D..

We're currently in the midst of our Fantasy Week, and there's no greater fantasy tale than JRR Tolkein's epic Lord of the Rings trilogy. The series --- which was later adapted by Peter Jackson as one of the most critically acclaimed genre franchises of all time --- helped define Western interpretations of the genre as a whole and even people who don't care for fantasy probably have some positive feelings about Lord of the Rings. Comic books have a long history with the genre and we've assembled a list of five of the best independent fantasy comics for you to check out if you're a fan of the genre. Love that? Try this!

My Favorite Monster: Seeing The God In Godzilla
Who else but Godzilla deserves the title of favorite monster? Sure, there are lots of great contenders, like werewolves, and Dracula, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. But the Xenomorph and Predator could team up and even they could not topple Godzilla. She has had one of the longest lives of any monster in the world.
