We know that there's an Inhumans television show coming whether we like it or not, and we know Marvel Comics is going to keep pushing the franchise in the comics whether we like it or not, but it doesn't have to all be grim acceptance of our terrigen-infused future. The proliferation of Inhumans #content has been a good thing too, as it's given us Ms. Marvel, Moon Girl, and perhaps most importantly, lots more opportunities to see what Lockjaw is up to!

It seems like, especially recently, if you're on the internet you're inundated with projects from the McElroy family. Whether it's podcasts, YouTube series or the new My Brother, My Brother and Me show on Seeso, there's so much McElroy content out there that it's hard to find a place to start. If you're visiting us, that means you're probably a big fan of comics, and the way high-concept stories can be told via serialized fiction and if that's the case, you need to listen to The Adventure Zone.

Superheroes are usually all about flying around, big fights, and being larger than life. In Old Man Logan, the outgoing creative team of Andrea Sorrentino, Jeff Lemire and Marcelo Maiolo mixes that with a slightly different approach. In this series, Logan remains pretty grounded. His costume becomes a brown leather jacket, and most of the time his fights are pretty brutal, and mostly involve people getting straight up punched in the face. And it all hinges on Sorrentino's take on Wolverine. It's leaning heavily on realism, with sharp blacks that add a noirish vibe.

One of the reasons I love video games so much is because they're able to transport me to a world very different from my own, and show me the magnificence of places I could never see. Some even allow me to do more than act as an ethereal observer, they allow me to keep mementos in the form of pictures of my travels. Horizon Zero Dawn isn't the first game to give players the option to "photograph" the player's journey, but it might be the most beautiful experience I've ever witnessed.

So many of the best Superman moments are truly moments, brief glimpses of the impossible made easy, and the right thing made real. One such glimpse is seen in Mike McCain’s new art print "… And The American Way," recently made available for purchase in support of a very good cause.

The first time anyone reads a Geof Darrow comic, I can only imagine them having the exact same experience of their head exploding in some over-the-top, ridiculous way that only Darrow could illustrate. His brand of hyper-detailed hyper-violence is hard to replicate, and even just seeing a single panel of his work is enough to know that Darrow is unlike any other. So it's definitely a Good Thing that Darrow is heading back to comics this year with a new mini-series of Shaolin Cowboy.

If you haven’t met Terry Shin yet, you’re missing out. He’s a strong, sensitive dude who just happened to have been cursed by a witch, and now he’s half man, half pigeon. But he’s hecka cute, y’all.

One of the ideas explored by Scott McCloud in Reinventing Comics is the notion of the comics page as infinite canvas, doing things a print comic could never hope to do. Many comics makers from the 2000s online comics scene took up the challenge, and one of the standouts was --- and is --- UK artist Daniel Merlin Goodbrey.

It's only a few episodes deep, but there's already something very clear about FX's new X-Men spin-off show Legion --- it's staunchly independent in it's execution and vision, and very clearly the work of showrunner Noah Hawley (of the excellent Fargo), and feels at odds with a lot of more recent comic adaptations. For that, we should be grateful.

I’m happy to say that, after a rough start with Kevin Keller in the Riverdale pilot, last week's episode, "Chapter Four: The Last Picture Show," was the first really good episode for Kevin, played by actor Casey Cott. The dialogue felt like a better fit. His lines are still snappy, but there’s less leaning on the "quirky gay best friend” trope and more fleshing him out as a supporting character.
