We finally stand at the cusp of the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and after a month of asking you to vote in our favorite, best, greatest Avengers poll, it all comes down to this. These are the final two in the contest to determine which of over 100 Avengers members deserves bragging rights as the people's true champion. Is it Stingray? Or is it Moondragon? Actually, despite our unsubtle lobbying for those two, you, the people, went in another direction. Captain America always seemed likely to make the final, and he's still surely the favorite. Most of us probably expected him to go toe-to-toe with Iron Man in a democratic remake of Civil War. But the semi-final between Thor and Iron Man went down to the wire, with one hero maintaining a hair's breadth lead over the other in the final hours, and now we can officially confirm that Iron Man... is out of the competition.

All this month, to mark the imminent release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, we've been asking you to vote for your favorite, best, greatest Avengers members from the 100+ heroes who have signed up over the years. Now we're down to the quarter finals, and your pick of the very best. Four of these heroes will go on to tomorrow's semi-finals, and the big-two will face off in time for the movie's North American release.

All this month, to mark the imminent release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, we've been asking you to vote for your favorite, best, greatest Avengers members from the 100+ heroes who have signed up over the years (not counting spies, honorary members, future members, etc.). Along the way we've seen a lot of characters fall by the wayside with diabolically low scores; there's not a lot of love out there for Jocasta or Kaluu when there's a Thor or a Carol Danvers to vote for, and the newest Avengers inevitably have far less support than most of the classic members. So now it's time for those second-stringers, third-stringers, and how-many-strings-does-this-thing-have-stringers to shine! We've collected the 54 least popular Avengers members into a single runoff poll, and your votes will determine bragging rights among the Avengers least likely to make it to a future summer blockbuster movie.

We've taken the top contenders from the previous rounds and broken them up into new voting groups, and you're not just voting for the winner; you're helping us see how the rest of the team stack up against each other. That means you can still vote tactically if you think Captain America is going to sweep this thing but you'd still like to express a preference between Scott Land and Bobbi Morse --- and you can come back and express that preference every hour! The round two groups were assigned blind, except that we broke up the top seeds to keep it interesting. For this last set that means a scientist showdown between Dr Banner and Dr McCoy, a face-off between beloved second-stringer little bros Havok and Hawkeye, and a titanic tussle between two major fan favorites, Captain Marvel and Spider-Man.
