Vote Hiram Lodge For Mayor In Waid & Fish's 'Archie' #8
Good ol’ Archie Andrews can’t seem to catch a break, having recently been discharged from hospital with a concussion courtesy of his ex-girlfriend Betty Cooper’s errant homerun baseball while sneaky Reggie Mantle tries to worm his way into the life of his current girlfriend, Veronica Lodge. How could things get worse for Archie, you ask? How about if Veronica’s father, a man who has no shortage of contempt for our hero, ran for Mayor of Riverdale? We’ve got a preview of Archie #8 by Mark Waid, Veronica Fish, Andre Szymanowicz, Jen Vaughn & Jack Morelli, to give you a sneak peek at the Lodge campaign.

Eggman Won't Be Bossed Around in Sonic Universe #83 [Preview]
No one ever said being bad was easy, but Sonic the Hedgehog's main rival Eggman just can't buy a break. Not only does Eggman constantly have to deal with the Blue Blur and his friends mucking up his latest world domination plan, but he's also got all the other evil villains of Mobius to contend with. Now, Eggman's got to turn his eye from fending off Sonic to recapturing his own fortress from a devious duo in order to keep his spot as Big Bad Numero Uno. Fortunately for Eggman, his genius in creating robots to do all his dirty work for him will come in handy. Where two wizards might pose a problem for just one mere man, no matter how great his intelligence, they're hardly a match for an army of Egg Bosses. When you absolutely, positively have to put some up and coming villains in their place, what better tactic than to throw everything you have at them. Check out Eggman going big or going home in the preview for Sonic Universe #83.

'Saga,' 'Sex Criminals' And 'Dick Tracy' Win At The 2015 Harvey Awards
Last weekend at Baltimore Comic-Con, the 27th annual Harvey Awards were held, and in one of the least surprising developments in the history of the Harveys, Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples' Saga took home a few more awards to add to a shelf that I'm sure is already collapsing under the weight of its many honors. Named for MAD Magazine editor and cartoonist Harvey Kurtzman (who, interestingly enough, did not win the award he was nominated for this year), the Harveys are voted on by industry professionals, and this year's winners represent a pretty interesting crop of current comics, including CA favorites like Lumberjanes, Hellboy In Hell, and even Dick Tracy. Check out a full roster of winners and nominees below!

Come to the Black Sabbath In 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'
The teens of Archie Comics are having a pretty weird week. In the past seven days, we've seen them deal with a sharknado that caused the vast majority of the cast to violently lose most of their limbs, and finish up an encounter with the Predator that saw pretty much everyone in the city of Riverdale dying in the most spectacularly violent way possible. Now, just in case that wasn't enough, things are about to get downright devilish. Next week marks the release of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Robert Hack's Chilling Adventures of Sabrina #4, and poor Harvey Krinkle arrives at the Spellman family's latest dark ritual --- and is followed up by some familiar faces from the next town over. Check out a preview below, including a pretty awesome variant cover based on the poster for Carrie!

Sonic Goes Capcom & Sega Crazy in 'Sonic the Hedgehog' #275
The days of Sonic the Hedgehog being confined to his own, Sega-centric universe are long over --- he's met Mega Man in comics and done Olympic events with Mario in games --- but the speedy blue guy has quite possibly never been to a world as expansive as the one he's going to experience in August's Sonic the Hedgehog #275 from Archie. Not only is Mega Man involved in part eleven of the huge "Worlds Unite" event, but lots of other Capcom and Sega worlds will be part of the story, too. Street Fighter, Billy Hatcher, NiGHTS into Dreams and Monster Hunter are among the other franchises in the mix. Check out our exclusive reveal of covers by artists Patrick "Spaz" Spaziante, Edwin Haung, Lamar Wells, Tracy Yardley, and Rafa Knight!

'Life With Archie' Confronts Gun Violence In Penultimate Issue
We've known for a few months now that Archie Comics' Life With Archie series, about the possible adult lives of the Riverdale teens, will end with lead character Archie Andrews' death. Life With Archie #36 hits stands this week, and thanks to an interview with Archie publisher Jon Goldwater for the AP, we now know that this is where Archie meets his end -- and we know how it will happen. Readers who don't want to know too many specifics before the issue goes on sale should avoid reading any further, and perhaps also avoid the comics sections of the internet entirely for a couple of days.
