If there is one thing that I have learned in my time here at ComicsAlliance, it's that the public's hunger for Adventure Time cannot be sated, and only grows ever stronger as we offer up more and more to its howling maw. It's always nice to have a good news day in comics -- and DC probably agrees after the rapturous reception to yesterday's announcement of the new direction for Batgirl from the new creative team of Cameron Stewart, Brenden Fletcher, Jordie Bellaire, and new discovery Babs Tarr (who we've been telling you about for aaages). Judging by all the Batgirl fan-art produced since yesterday's announcement, we feel sure there's a big appetite out there for a Batgirl comic deliberately designed to appeal to a female and family audience -- and for Batgirl's smartly designed and stylish new costume. With credit to Batgirl fan ComixBookGurl for her Twitter call-to-action, we collected all the new Batgirl fan art we could find in order to celebrate what may be the best Batgirl... ever?

If there are two things I love in this cruel, cruel world of ours, they are, without a doubt, bragging about my accomplishments through clothing accessories and Lumberjanes, the incredible new book by Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis, Noelle Stevenson and Brooke Allen that's currently coming out from Boom! Studios. And now, there is a way to combine them: At San Diego's Comic-Con International, looming ever closer later this month, the publisher will have Lumberjanes Scout Patches available for fans to buy and apply to their own clothing to celebrate what they've learned. The badges will be based on the ones that have actually appeared in the comic, starting off with a set of four that include an unrevealed mystery patch, available during the con.

The greater population of ComicsAlliance are already huge fans of Pendleton Ward's Bravest Warriors series for Cartoon Hangover and its BOOM! Studios spinoff, but I confess that the project was stuck in my "to-do" pile while Caleb Goellner blogged about it with the expertise and enthusiasm you've come to expect from this site. Fortunately for me, Caleb's exit from CA syncs up with the arrival of Kate Leth, who takes over as the new writer of Bravest Warriors beginning with next week's issue #25. Joined by artist Ian McGinty, Leth's first issue, as it turns out, is a good entry point for new readers curious to check out just what all the fuss is about.
