Marvel’s announcement of an Inhumans movie was a welcome surprise when they rolled out their prospective slate of superhero films holding us prisoner for the next century. Then, the Inhumans movie was taken off the roster completely after being pushed back to make room for Disney’s Indiana Jones reboot. Then, Marvel president Kevin Feige said that, yes, it was still happening, just not in Phase 3. We hadn’t heard a ton of news about the movie since then, but Feige is now still saying that he thinks an Inhumans movie would be “super cool.”

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has already made some major strides in bringing diversity to the big screen. With Black Panther on the way and Spider-Man: Homecoming casting an actress of color in the (rumored) role of Mary Jane, we’re looking at a much less white future for superhero movies. But the latest Spider-Man movie will also look much different from the previous iterations takes to one small details: realistic high schools.

The recent release of Luke Cage may have crystallized how out of touch Marvel’s Defenders series feel with the current MCU film slate, a problem not likely to get better with Doctor Strange splitting New York into multiple dimensions. Timing makes it difficult to write any of the four Netflix stars into the films, but with Infinity War on the horizon, new comments from Kevin Feige again dash our hopes.

Earlier this year, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige assured anxious fans that a director and star for the upcoming Captain Marvel film would be revealed before the end of the summer. At Comic-Con, Brie Larson joined the MCU family in Hall H to announce her casting as Carol Danvers in the highly-anticipated film, which is still seeking a director. According to Feige, we’ll know who’s helming the project before the end of the year, but until then, he has another great reason for you to be excited about Captain Marvel.

But in the meantime, here is one interesting tidbit: Tilda Swinton wants to make a spinoff Strange film about her character, the Ancient One, the immortal teacher and master of the mystical arts who teaches Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange the ways of magic.

Back in August, Marvel raised some eyebrows when they announced that Dan Harmon was stepping in to fiddle around with the script of Doctor Strange. Harmon is the creator of Community and co-creator of Rick and Morty, both extremely funny shows, so everyone pretty much came to the same conclusion: Marvel realized that Doctor Strange needed some humor, and Harmon was just the right man for the job. Now, Marvel’s president Kevin Feige, who’s been making the rounds and revealing all kinds of things lately, has confirmed that, yes, Harmon was brought on to add some spice to the Doctor Strange script.

Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange has an incredibly stacked cast, from Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role to recognizable names and faces like Tilda Swinton, Mads Mikkelsen, and Chiwetel Ejiofor also starring. In case you forgot, Rachel McAdams, yes that Rachel McAdams, is also in the movie in a supporting role. She’s been in a poster and a few seconds of a trailer, and that’s just about it, but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating about what her role actually is. Most of the consensus is that she’s Night Nurse, or a version of Night Nurse, a character in the comics who’s a very important part of the Doctor Strange: The Oath series. McAdams appears in scrubs and is said to be a surgeon at the hospital Strange works at, so it’s not too much of a stretch. Marvel has been characteristically cagey about who Rachel McAdams is playing, but today they’re saying fans shouldn’t get their Night Nurse hopes up.

The Captain Marvel movie that the studio has been planning since 2014 is finally gaining ground with the recent casting of Brie Larson in the title role, and will be Marvel’s first female-led superhero film in the Iron Man-MCU era. And it’s about time. Although apparently Carol Danvers was supposed to show up in the final moments of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Kevin Feige scrapped those plans in favor of giving her a film all of her own. Now, he’s officially confirmed that Captain Marvel’s movie will be an origin story.

Blade, the movie starring Wesley Snipes as the not-quite-a-vampire superhero who protects humans from the befanged and bloodthirsty creatures of the night, was a huge commercial success upon its 1998 release and launched a series that’s garnered a cult following over the years. It doesn’t get the credit it deserves for relaunching big-screen superhero movies, and some fans are hungry for the character’s return. Rumors recently flew on bat-wings about Marvel Studios perhaps planning to reboot the character, but Marvel president Kevin Feige says that probably won’t happen. At least, not on a large scale.

Marvel’s decision to cast a white woman in the role of an Asian character has been just one of many threads in the theme of Hollywood whitewashing this year. In the upcoming ‘Doctor Strange,’ Tilda Swinton will play the Ancient One, originally an Asian character in the comic books. Now Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and ‘Doctor Strange’ director Scott Derrickson have chimed in about their reasons for casting Swinton, and how they might be trying to make up for that by tweaking another role.
