When the massive Captain America: Civil War cast list was released there was one big, green name missing: Hulk. While Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, War Machine, Vision, Ant-Man and even Spider-Man are joining Captain America for his next film, Bruce Banner was apparently looking to sit this film out. Or, is he? A new report suggests that Mark Ruffalo was spotted on set in Berlin shooting new scenes for the movie with Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie and Daniel Brühl.

While promoting Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mark Ruffalo expressed interest in making a new solo Hulk movie, and he also suggested a possible reason why it hasn’t happened yet: Universal still has the rights to distribute future Hulk films, which is something Marvel would need to figure out to move forward. A new report suggests that the rights issue may not entirely be an obstacle after all — the only thing keeping Marvel from making a Hulk movie is Marvel itself.

These Marvel movies are so damn secretive, even their stars don’t know whether they’re in them or not.

With each casting update, Captain America: Civil War is sounding more and more like Avengers 2.5 — that makes sense, to a degree, since this installment in the franchise is going to majorly change things in the MCU and really shape the future of Phase 3. So far we have (deep breath) Captain America, Iron Man, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Vision, Ant-Man, Black Panther and War Machine. There are a couple of Avengers missing from that list, and it looks like one of them might be joining the fun.

If Marvel won’t listen to the rest of us, then maybe they’ll listen to a valuable person on their payroll. Recently, we learned that Marvel and Disney’s officially-licensed Avengers: Age of Ultron merchandise featured very, very little in the way of Black Widow (options include a shopping bag), and absolutely no Scarlet Witch merchandise at all. Apparently fans weren’t the only ones bothered by this, as Avengers star Mark Ruffalo also has something to say about it. Hey Marvel, you don’t want to make him angry. You won’t like him when he’s angry.

There’s a lot to like about Avengers: Age of Ultron, but the coolest thing about it is the way it reclaims the comic book part of the phrase “comic-book movie.” Rather than using these characters to do something “edgy” or “adult” or “important,” or sanding down their quirkier edges to appeal to as broad and mainstream an audience as possible, Age of Ultron doubles down on its source material’s geeky origins.

If The Avengers feel like one big, slightly dysfunctional family, it's because they are. And that applies to off-screen as well as on. Playing off that chemistry, the cast of Avengers: Age of Ultron — Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner — appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night and played a rousing game of Family Feud.

As one of the last members of the Avengers to get his own figure from Hot Toys, we can relate to Bruce Banner. It's not easy being the last guy on the playground to get picked for the team. That's why it's going to be so hard to part ways with the good doctor. Well, that and his big, green alter-ego is just too much of a potential risk to keep laying around the ComicsAlliance offices.
