If you’ve seen 300, then you’re very familiar with the Spartan soldiers’ costumes: A helmet, a cape, a shield, and not a whole lot else. Among those Spartans, only one, Gerard Butler’s King Leonidas, has a helmet with a plume on it. Did you know that the real historical Spartans all had plumes on their helmets? Director Zack Snyder decided to change that detail in order to make Leonidas stand out, and easier to identify in the midst of the film’s battle scenes. That’s just one of the facts featured in the newest episode of You Think You Know Movies!
We learned earlier this year that ‘Assassin’s Creed’ would take place in the present more than the past, and the latest trailer gives a better look at that ratio.
When Nightcrawler broke into the White House at the start of 2003’s X2, it felt like more than a watershed moment in the history of comic book movies; it felt like a miracle. Here was one of comics’ most fantastical characters — a blue-skinned, three-fingered German demon with a pointy, prehensile tail and teleportation powers — brought to life with all of his outlandish quirks and powers intact, showcased in a sequence that was thrilling and utterly convincing. It was something no one had ever seen before. It was truly uncanny.
We have a pretty stacked summer ahead of us, kicking off in May with Captain America: Civil War, followed by the (hopefully) equally epic X-Men: Apocalypse. The mutants of First Class and Days of Future Past are no longer the new kids on the block, as younger versions of Jean Grey, Scott Summers and more are getting in on the action in the upcoming sequel. To better familiarize you with the lineup, 20th Century Fox has released several new character posters which boast various mutants old and new along with their respective powers.
With both Batman vs. Superman and Captain America: Civil War coming soon, the current superhero trend is to jam pack your movie with as many comic book characters as possible. Batman vs. Superman has the Justice League and Civil War has almost all the Avengers...
With Batman vs. Superman and Captain America: Civil War each less than two months away, it might feel like the Marvel and DC universes are dominating the landscape. But, let’s not forget that the X-Men Movies Universe is still a thing and X-Men: Apocalypse is on its way. Not to be outdone by the many Captain America posters, X-Men: Apocalypse has released a brand new poster highlighting the film’s villains.
Do you like mutants doing mutant-y things? Then you’ll love the X-Men: Apocalypse Super Bowl trailer, which features all kinds of new mutants (no pun intended) doing what they do best.
Because of all the new characters in X-Men: Apocalypse, we don’t get to spend a lot of time with any one character, but this new trailer is happy to bounce around giving us a taste of just about everyone. The...

If you are unfamiliar with the X-Men comics and Quicksilver’s origins, then you’ll probably consider this bit of news a pretty big spoiler — turn back now. And if you are familiar with the comics, then you’ll be happy to know that Evan Peters has confirmed the identity of Quicksilver’s father and promises that his big X-Men: Apocalypse sequence will be a worth follow-up to the scene in Days of Future Past.
As teased in the post-credits sting of X-Men: Days of Future Past, Apocalypse is coming and he’s bringing his four horsemen — okay, not the four horsemen we saw in that teaser scene, but a new set of horsemen: Magneto, Psylocke, Storm and Angel. 20th Century Fox has revealed some new photos of the characters who will play accessory to Oscar Isaac’s titular baddie, while some additional details have emerged about their role in X-Men: Apocalypse.
