Director Confirms ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Travels to Planet Hulk
Because Thor: Ragnarok is a gift for all of us who wondered what the two M.I.A. Avengers had been up to during the events of Captain America: Civil War, it’ll be combining two very exciting comic arcs from Thor and the Hulk. Rumors of Planet Hulk have abounded for most of this year, and Marvel seemed to confirm that parts of that storyline would make it into the new Thor movie when they revealed Hulk’s gladiator armor back in July. Now, the director himself confirmed that not only would Thor: Ragnarok reference Planet Hulk, they’ll actually be going there during the movie.

Thor: Ragnarok is set to be one heck of a film based on the information revealed so far, with a killer cast including Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Cate Blanchett as Hela, and Jeff Goldblum as The Grandmaster. We've already heard from Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo that the film is going to be a cosmic buddy movie between Thor and The Hulk, and today at San Diego Comic Con we received more information about what that might mean as Marvel unveiled a very familiar set of armor for the Jade Giant. In a post on Twitter, Marvel's Agent M unveiled the Gladiator Hulk armor made famous in Greg Pak and Carlo Pagulayan's insta-classic "Planet Hulk" storyline. In the original story, The Illuminati (Iron Man, Mister Fantastic, Black Bolt and Doctor Strange) decided to send The Hulk off to space where he could live out his days on an idyllic and uninhibited planet.

Another week, another batch of Marvel promos for summer 2015 events with familiar titles: Infinity Gauntlet, House of M, Old Man Logan, Inumans: Attilan Rising. They joins a slew of other recycled titles including Armor Wars, Civil War, and Planet Hulk. Then, today, things changed up a little. Marvel sent out an email for its newest summer 2015 event in the same format as it has been (one image with no text besides a title), but it doesn't have the title of an old series, though it does share a subtitle with a series of books that started about 12 years ago. It's called simply Ultimate Universe: The End.

Maybe Marvel is trying to do something about climate change. That's one possible explanation for why the publisher is recycling the titles of half a dozen, and probably more, of its events from over the years. In the past week, Marvel has announced events titled Planet Hulk and Armor Wars, and before that we found out about Civil War, Age of Ultron vs. Marvel Zombies, Secret Wars, and the slightly retitled Years of Future Past.
