Elizabeth Banks’ Rita Repulsa is back in a new image from the upcoming Power Rangers movie, and she looks pretty darn pleased with herself. The Power Rangers official Twitter account debuted a new still of the villain, with the caption “Thought you saw the last of me!? Ignoramus, you thought wrong. I have glorious catastrophic plans for the holiday season.”

While we here at ComicsAlliance are well aware the Power Rangers never stopped being cool, next year is when everyone else will realize the very same following the release of the upcoming big-screen adaptation of everyone's favorite teenagers with attitude. With nostalgia for the Rangers set to reach an all-time high, Funko is going all in on the classic Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers series with several new lines dedicated to the show.

When Boom's Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series began earlier this year, setting its story in the days after Tommy's arrival as the Green Ranger, it immediately started expanding on what Ranger fans already knew from the show. There were new dynamics in place, new powers for the villains, and even new reveals, such as the fact that Rita Repulsa had approached other characters with the power of the Green Ranger before settling on Tommy. And in the second arc, we got a brand new villain. Now, at the end of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #9, that new villain's identity has been revealed, and it's one of the most unexpected and surprising plot twists that we've seen in a good long while. With those shiny new Schumacher-esque suits and Rita Repulsa’s swampy Lady Gaga-as-a-Mortal Kombat-character aesthetic, you’d think that little else about the new Power Rangers movie could surprise us. You would think wrong. Today in “What the heck is going on with this Power Rangers reboot?” a new image from the upcoming film has given us our first look at their take on Alpha-5, and it is WACKY.

You know that Power Rangers movie that still seems to be happening, despite there being absolutely no reason for it to be? You know how Elizabeth Banks is playing the villain? You know how the villain is Sexy Rita Repulsa (which is something I never thought I’d ever type unless I was looking for bad Halloween costumes)? The mind continues to boggle at every turn with this movie, and it’s honestly impossible at this point to predict whether it will be good, bad, or so bad it’s good. But Elizabeth Banks is a talented actress who’s clearly not afraid to put on a lot of weird makeup and outfits for her characters, as evidenced by all four of the Hunger Games movies. Lionsgate released a new image of her Rita Repulsa, complete with evil scepter.
